Clicking "Update contract status" from the ellipsis menu on the onboarding table now opens a modal overlay. HR selects the new status and, if setting a contract to Inactive, selects a reason. The Submit button stays disabled until both required fields are completed. The admin stays on the onboarding table throughout — no page navigation required.
